Causes
Wind and ocean currents
Help move heat and cold to different parts of the planet
Latitude
Places at high latitude get little sunlight during the winter and tend to be very cold
Places close to the equator (the tropics) get a lot of sun in both the summer and the winter and tend to be very hot
Elevation
Temperatures get lower the higher up you get
High mountains can also block moisture
