Analysis of competences analysis of hard and soft skills and personal preferences of full-time students (“profile AC“, “2P“) Getting to know different jobs - practical lessons in workshops at VET schools, - help finding internships, - organisation of job fairs in cooperation with employment agencies and companies, - trainees - acting as “ambassadors“ - informing full-time students (financed by chambers of commerce). Dual vocational training in cooperation with training companies, supervised by chambers of commerce

9 3. Teacher training for career guidance
Close cooperation of teachers at VET schools with the training companies (= dual partners). One-day study visit of teacher trainees at the Chamber of Commerce Karlsruhe Training module - designed by the Seminar Karlsruhe - for teacher trainees who will be teaching at workshops in VET schools: “Combining practical learning with the respective technical terminology and gaining insight into the respective workfield“

12 Cooperation between VET schools and companies providing internships for young refugees
“Headhunters“ from companies like Daimler visit VET schools and observe young refugees at school workshops for half a day. They look for the ones with practical and social skills as well as personal commitment. They talk with them and ask the teachers about their language competences. If they find a suitable young refugee they offer her/him an internship. After a successful internship the young refugee may get a dual vocational training at the company.

Background knowledge of the dual system and other possibilities of vocational training for young refugees and their parents Better matching of the competences and expectations of young refugees with the requirements and expectations of the companies
