3 Wastewater Treatment Who needs a Wastewater Treatment license?
If involved in process control of domestic wastewater treatment plants in Texas. Experience The laboratory must be owned and operated by the permittee and the laboratory technician must consult daily with operational personnel. Related experience will count at a rate of 50% toward meeting the total experience requirement.

4 Wastewater Collection
Who needs a Collection License? Anybody who directly supervises a wastewater collection system or maintenance crews. At least one supervisor must hold a license class equal to or higher than that category of system. All other supervisors must hold a valid license. Image: sewer lid

Renewal Requirements Must be renewed every three years. Application and fee ($111) must be timely submitted. Require 30 hours of Continuing Education (CE) to be eligible for renewal. CE hours must be acquired prior to the expiration of the license and may be obtained any time during the validity of the license. Visit our webpage for a list of TCEQ approved training.

6 Renewal Requirements Wastewater Renewal Exceptions:
Class A & B operators may not apply the "Basic Wastewater Operation" course for renewal credit hours. Class D operators are not renewable for: operators at any activated sludge-type treatment facility of any size; Any trickling filter or RBC facility with a permitted average daily flow of 100,000 gallons per day or greater; or Wastewater facility that disposes of treated effluent through a subsurface area drip dispersal system.
