How to add a CDI Query in Meditech 6.1 (via “Clinical” Physician Care Manager”)

How to add a Coder and CDI Query in Meditech 6.1 (via “Clinical” Physician Care Manager”) Start by going into Physician Care Manager, selecting the patient from your list and opening the chart Click “Documents” tab on right side panel Click “New” tab on bottom of screen Click “CDI Query Standard”

3 How to create your contact name and information in “quicktext”
The very first time you add a query in Meditech 6.1 you must “create” your own “quicktext” contact name and contact information. You can edit and update this whenever you need to (for example if working remote and want to update to include cell phone number etc). Click inside the “green text box” that says “QUERY” Click “quick text” tab at the bottom

Contact name and information is created/saved in quick text continued.. Click on the “+” sign that appears in box middle of screen Click in the “Trigger” column create your quick text contact information “Trigger mnemonic” -this MUST start with a “.” (dot) Click in the “Description” column, create description for your personal contact information Click in the “free text box” at bottom of screen, enter all your information how you want it to appear on your queries Click “Save and Insert” tab at bottom Once inserted into the document the text will display between the blue Parenthesis as seen here >

Follow steps from previous slides Click inside the “green line” that says “QUERY” Click “Quick Text” tab at the bottom Either type in your “.mnemonic” and then spacebar and it automatically pulls in OR select your name with contact information from the list Click “Insert” tab at bottom, then tab down 1 or 2 lines

6 How to add a Query once your contact name and information is created/saved in quick text
Click on tab at bottom “Quick Text’ Select the query template to add from the “Quick Text” list Click “Insert” tab at bottom this will auto-populate all the query information

7 How to add Clinical Indicators and Clinical References
Insert your clinical indicators by placing cursor into this section of template (using “save Data” tab/copy paste feature) Insert clinical references if applicable (click “Text” tab at bottom for list of canned text options that can be added, once you click on the reference text you want it will be added to your query)

8 How to save the query and send to the Provider to complete
Edit the query as needed (this includes editing the physician response examples that are pre-built into the query) Click “OK” tab at bottom right Click “View and Save” tab at bottom right Assign MD Click “Save” **Please note the above process is only to be used by sites LIVE with 6.1- All hospitals will be going LIVE with this process on their 6.1 LIVE date. Everyone should start reviewing the training to prepare. Any hospital not yet LIVE, will use their old way of querying until their LIVE date.
