6. PATHOGENESIS:
In spite of large size it causes little inconvenience to the patient.
It may lead to vague abdominal discomfort, indigestion and diarrheoea.
Proglottides crawling leading to alarm and embarrassment.
Diagnosis :
Presence of proglottides in stool.
Wet mount of stool for typical ova.
Treatment :
Niclosamide, Praziquantel and Bithionol.
Prophylaxis:
Examination of Beef for cysticerci, and proper cooking of Beef
