Starts with a mobile UI accessible to casual users Delivers reasonably robust functionality Workflow facilitates mobile approvals Updates a delivered PeopleSoft component
5
Meet the 9.2 Tools Fluid Interface Activity Guides
Approval Framework (AWE) Fluid Approvals Page Composer
6
9.2 Tools We Won’t Cover, Because…
Forms & Approval Builder Not reasonably robust HCM Guided Self-Service Configurable, but not custom Field & Page Configurator Can configure delivered pages, not build new pages / forms

Fluid Interface Pros: Cons:
Native responsive mobile PeopleSoft experience More stable with each Tools release Broad acceptance - here to stay Cons: Still hard to develop in
10
Think You Aren’t “On Fluid?” Think Again!
Fluid is both a navigation scheme (Homepages & Tiles) and a responsive page scheme Just because you haven’t turned off the Classic breadcrumb menu doesn’t mean you can’t use Fluid pages There is no “switch” to turn Fluid pages on or off – you just use them or you don’t Oracle will keep delivering more Fluid pages, it will just get harder not to use them

Activity Guides: Config Aspects
Template: Layout the Activity Guide, with a progression of Action Items Manage security for Administrators, Contributors, and Viewers Yes/No Questionnaire can be set up, and can drive what Action Items are included Start Date and Due Date Action Item: Can be a page, script, process, or app class % Complete, priority, image, Start Date & Due Date Dependencies (parent/sub steps)
20
Activity Guides: Tech Aspects
Action Items (including the pages themselves) must be built technically Instance: A transaction occurrence of the Activity Guide You start an Activity Guide for a user by creating a new Instance. This is typically a technical task; you write code that creates the new Instance based on a triggering event or user action. Data is stored in standard PeopleSoft tables built in App Designer Data management (prepopulation, repopulation) Dynamic and conditional behavior (other than questionnaire-driven Action Item selection) Edits Lookups Related displays

33
What Page Composer ISN’T…
Page Composer is NOT a tool to build PeopleSoft or form pages! The real name is Approval Page Composer. It only builds pages that show data in the Fluid Approvals application. It can’t build pages you can enter data into to update the system.
34
Approval Page Composer: Config Aspects
Set up records to pull information from Choose a columnar field layout (no grids) Drill into detail pages
35
Approval Page Composer: Tech Aspects
Might need to build new views to pull data from
