2. Danny Harold Rolling
The “Gainesville Ripper” also known as Danny Harold Rolling was born on May 26th, 1954
Danny Rolling murdered five college students from the University of Florida in 1990
He was put on death row and killed by lethal injection on October 25, 2006

3. Dannie's Childhood
Dannie's father would physically and verbally abuse him and his brother. James started to physicaly abuse danny when he started to crawl. James would pull Danny down the hallway on his bottom with one leg. His father was mad from the way Danny was acting so one day he grabbed Danny by his foot and shoved him along the hallway, bouncing him as he went down the hallway.
His father would constantly abuse him for imagined transgressions .If they didn't sit properly,or didn’t act the way they should, or even breathe a certain way his brother Kevin and him would get beaten. James would beat them with a belt and other times he would make a fist and grind his knuckle into the tops of their heads. Whatever the punishment, he would insist that they not cry out, under threat of further punishment.

4. Dannie's childhood
During that year Daniel became very ill and was absent from school alot , his teacher Dannies mother that it would be best for Danny to he repeated the year. She also recommended that Danny receive counseling for his nervousness and personality problems. His mother never got Danny therapy like his teacher suggested.
When Danny reached pre teens his father told him he couldn’t go back to work because he had bad grades. He started to try to commit suicide multiple times and he started to rob multiple places.
The hatred towards his father got so bad one day Danny took Jameses gun and shot him in the head. James survived but Danny was put in jail.

5. Trolling phase
He would break into apartments of the college students while they were sleeping.

6. Capture phase
Danny would tape his victims mouth shut so they couldn’t scream. Then he would threaten them with a knife to scare them into doing what they were told.

7. Murder phase
Danny killed his five victims with a hunting knife. They were mutilated and posed after the murders occurred and one was decapitated.

8. Christina and Sonja Larson
Two seventeen year old girls, Christina and her roommate Sonja Larson were brutally murdered in their apartments. One of the girls was naked and posed grotesquely on a bed with her arms above her head. The other girl was found naked on the stairwell down to the lower level of the apartment. Both women had been stabbed repeatedly, mutilated and deliberately positioned

9. Christa Hoyt
The next victim was Christa Hoyt. She was found in her apartment naked on the edge of her the bed. She was bent over at the waist with a small pool of blood at the feet and she was decapitated. When they checked her apartment officers found Christa's head facing them, propped up on a bookshelf in the bedroom. On the bed next to her were her two nipples

10. Tracy and Manny
The manager of the apartment found two 23 year olds in their apartment. their names were Tracy and Manny ,both brutally murdered. Tracy was found naked, lying in the hallway between the two bedrooms in their apartment. Tracy was found with a towel placed under her hips and her hair was wet. Manny had been found in his bed where his attack had begun and ended. From the wounds on his arms the police concluded that he had put up a struggle before his he was murdered.

11. Dannie’s conviction
In July he was indicted for both the First Union National Bank robbery and the Ocala Winn Dixie robbery. During September and October he was found guilty on a string of burglary, stealing and robbery charges. By the time the grand jury began hearing evidence in the Gainesville murders case, Rolling was already facing four life terms. During this time, Rolling attempted to commit suicide several times but he never succeeded and he lived to face the grand jury. Danny was found guilty for the five murders of the college students and sentenced to death row.

Danny Rolling is a serial killer because he killed a total of 5 people. He also never confessed to the murder of his ex wife and his daughter but their were similar traits from the murders. Meaning he killed his victims over 30 days. He had a cooling off period when he went to jail for a robbery then he killed the five college students.
