2. Sound – a form of energy that is produced by a vibration and can be heard.

3. Vibration– a back and forth movement of matter.

4. Volume–The loudness of a sound.

5. Light– A form of energy that travels in waves and can be seen when it interacts with matter.

6. Reflection– What occurs when light waves bounce as they pass from one material to another

7. Refraction– What occurs when light waves bends they pass from one material to another

8. Prism – light waves with shorter wave lengths bend more than light waves with longer wave lengths.

9. Kinetic Energy – the energy that an object has because it is moving.

10. Potential Energy – the energy that is stored in an object.

11. Radiation – the transfer of energy by waves.

12. Temperature – the measure of how hot or cold matter is.

13. Example:
The sparks move from the sparkler to your skin. It’s hot and it burns.
Thermal Energy – the total kinetic energy of tiny moving particles of matter.

14. Convection – the transfer of thermal energy by the movement of fluids.

15. Heat – the flow of thermal energy from warmer air to cooler air.

16. Conduction – the transfer of thermal energy from particle to particle between two objects that are touching.
