Agenda 2030 is being implemented amidst ongoing data revolution Data revolution requires the modernization of official statistics In this era of lightning speed in all areas of information and data, statistical capacity development must yield timely and tangible results Such results must be policy relevant, life relevant, business relevant, etc… We need principles to be formulated and adhered to for statistical capacity development (SCD) to rise up to the objective of Agenda 2030, Agenda 2063 and other data needs. 1. Open Collaboration 2. Community–based Development 3. Strategic Alignment 4. Data Production Focus 5. Immediate Relevance 6. Sharing of Best Practices 7. Data Friendliness 8. Synergetic Commitment

To produce quality, comparable and timely statistical information in support of policy and decision-making, covering development and integration (political, economic, environment, social and cultural) To Produce quality statistics for Africa To Inculcate a culture of quality decision-making Roadmap To Coordinate the production of quality statistics for Africa To build sustainable Institutional capacity of the ASS
