AGM – February 2018

Our Place provide an invaluable local service to Schools in terms of mentoring and advice on all sorts of problems that young people have to deal with. Their contribution to the welfare of the local community in this regard is extremely helpful and worthwhile. (Clive Poole – Local Business: Print Monster) I have had a parent speak to me today about the course, and the positive impact that it has already had on her child. The child said that they now recognise the need to be a little more assertive, and to speak up for themselves a little more. Even them telling mum about this is proof enough that the child now feels able to do so. The child also said that they had noticed that one of the children in the group did not seem to have many friends, so that they have now made sure that they play with them and include them in their games. I just thought that it would be nice to share this with you, as it just reaffirms that what we do does make a difference. (School accessing Friendship Course) My child has benefitted from this amazing service and I am now trained in Mentoring practice. What is exceptional about Our Place is the time, support and continued professional training that is placed into the Mentors. The ethos is strong and builds relationships through sharing skills. Our Place encourages the care and support of the child being paramount. Being a champion for a child/ young person. (Debi)
