When writing a budget adjustment, do not put different project/grants on one budget adjustment. Please use an additional budget adjustment. Budgets must remain in their respective grants. You can not move money from one grant to another grant on the budget adjustment. (That can be done on an expenditure transfer after the money is spent. Please ask Fiscal Accountants how to accomplish this). You can check the Budgets Overview to see if your budget adjustment has been processed.

Using Budgets Overview in PeopleSoft:
Using Budgets Overview in PeopleSoft: Put information in ChartField Criteria (The less information you put in the more information you will receive). Then click on Search.

Click on the Double pages on the line you are looking for information on. (See Below)

Click on the Green Budget Book.

First click on the magnifying glass and then on the arrow.

This will bring up all information on budget adjustments and expenditures, slide the bar to the right and you will see the movement of the monies.

Foundation Checks When a department receives a foundation check, they need to write a budget adjustment. The first line is the Revenue line and is as follows: Account Fund Dept Program SubClass Project/Grant 12 THEIR DEPT # 67260 08 The second line is the budget setup and is as follows: Account Fund Dept Program SubClass Project/Grant Acct Pool # 12 THEIR DEPT # ##### ## Bring Budget Adjustment and the Check to Room A118 for processing or send to Budget Department along with the whole check (top and bottom) and I will take care of it.

nVision Training If you do not have access to nVision, you will first need to contact David Rice , ext 3112 or to give you access to nVision and to the Add ins.

nVision (A series of clicks: Main Menu – Reporting Tools - PS/nVision – Define Scope)

nVision (cont): In SetID choose PALMR in Report Scope Put your initials or scope ID press Search (DO NOT USE MV THAT IS MINE)

nVision (cont): For most current information use the end of the Fiscal Year as the date for your report (will come up with today’s date. Then check the Scope and Delivery Templates.
