Like I have used on this presentation the gradient background is a very popular trend for 2018, they are used to enhance a flat design it is already been used in major companies such as Instergram

3. typography
Typography has become more about how it is presented rather than the actual font, large stand alone lettering is becoming a very popular trend for 2018.
The lettering is more about using a large size and making it bold to grab the attention of the user within the titles or headlines.

4. Bold colours
Bold colours to grab the users attention is another colour variation option designers are using, they do this by using both complimentary colours but also the use of contrasting colours carefully.

5. Displaying images
2018 brings the displaying of images into question, designers are no longer satisfied just displaying the images but they are now driven to create a way that is more visually stimulating and engaging to the user such as moving galleries. Even just by changing the image sizes and staggering them it creates a very pleasing visual

6. video
Video is been used as an engaging opening to websites as its hard to be bored by an amazing video rather than a flat page, it is also a way to get a user to make a sale as they feel compelled to be a part of what they have seen within the video.

7. branding
Large branding is very popular to increase recognizability for the company, both simple and complex designs are used but they must always be easy to recognize, be visually pleasing, fit for use and be able to be scaled both up and down
