1 Semester Review

2 Week 2 We talked about summer vacation and past tense verbs.
You learned vocabulary for travel and vacation The words you learned include Passport, visa stamp, suitcase, luggage, carry-on, board and disembark, take off, land, check in, room key, room safe, snorkel, mask, breathing tube, fins, tram, and cruise. You also learned how to form the past tense of both regular and irregular verbs Base verb Past tense rain cry stay close Base verb Past tense wear swim fly go rained wore cried swam stayed flew closed went

3 Week 2 You also had to make a conversation using questions that were on a document. Those questions included Make sure you know how to use these sentences. Where did you go? What did you do? What did you see? Where did you stay? Was the hotel nice? Who did you go with? When did you come back? How long were you gone? How long were you there?

4 Week 3 In week three we talked about the to be verb. am is are was
You learned the 5 forms of the to be verb. You also practiced answering questions using the past tense of the be verb. Who can tell me the 5 forms of the to be verb? am is are was were am – is – are >>> present tense was – were >>> past tense

5 Week 4 Grammatical structures ST + to be + adjective than ST
In week 4 you learned how to make comparisons using comparative adjectives. You learned 6 sentence structures that are used to make comparasions. Grammatical structures ST + to be + adjective than ST ST + to be + more adjective than ST ST + to be + less adjective than ST ST + to be + adjective + infinitive ST + to be + not as + adjective + as ST Examples English is easier than French. Gold is more expensive than silver. Silver is less expensive than gold. It is good to meet you. This car is not as old as that car. It is + adjective + infinitive + ST than + infinitive + ST It is better to be rich than to be poor.

6 Week 4 In week 4 you learned how to make comparisons using comparative adjectives. You learned 6 sentence structures that are used to make comparasions. You should be able to make two comparisons for the items on the document that was used in week four and make two sentences for each comparison.

7 Week 5 In week 5 you practiced using gong to and will to talk future plans. You learned that future tense is used to talk about things that will happen after now. You also learned that we use future tense to talk about activities that we plan to do in the future. To form future tense you can use the following sentence constructions. 1. Subject + will + base verb >> David will travel for vacation. 2. Subject + am/is + going to + base verb >> David is going to travel for vacation. You also studied the question form using who, what, when, where, why and how.

8 Week 6 In week 6 we talked about Halloween and you learned vocabulary associated with this holiday. This will not be on the final exam.

In week 7 we reviewed how to describe a person We also practiced describing personality. You learned both positive and negative adjectives that are used to describe personality. You also wrote adjectives about your personality using the first letters of your name jealous modest truthful sociable serious polite assertive creative grumpy greedy dishonest quiet bossy easygoing open minded mean generous smart selfish dependable critical talkative lazy moody big-headed impatient
