2. Achromatic (colorless) value: black and white
Color has three components:
HUE
VALUE
INTENSITY

3. HUE
Hue- corresponds to local color and is the quality that distinguishes one color from another-redness, blueness.
Color warmness: red, yellow
Color coolness: blue
Primary colors:
RED
YELLOW
BLUE

6. Analogous colors= hues side-by-side on the color wheel
Secondary colors:
Green
Orange
Violet
They are obtained by mixing two primaries:

Analogous colors= hues side-by-side on the color wheel
Analogous colors- they create almost no contrast

7. Complementary Colors Hues opposite each other on the color wheel
Examples:

8. Intensity or Chroma
Chroma is a term meaning color and/or the quality of a color combining hue and saturation
It describes the vividness or dullness of a hue

Reduced tension, but still enough visual contrast
