Temp Faculty Updates and Reminders
Temporary Faculty contracts approve in CMS at Dean’s Office level by FRIDAY January 26th Training Resources for contract preparation & generation: Skillport (found under Employee Center section of MySacState) Step-by-step instructions (web based): CSU ID Search for new faculty OFA only processes Full-time 3 year contracts. All other contracts should be entered in the temp faculty module Contract vs. Appointment Notification New language in Appointment Notification document regarding CFA membership and HEERA concerns

Temp Faculty – New Requests
For all NEW Faculty or faculty with a break of service of 12 months or more, we need: Required Information: Title (Mr., Ms., or Dr.): Last Name: First Name: Middle Initial (if available) Home Address: Address: Gender (if available): Highest Degree: CMS Student ID (if applicable) OR SSN: (Please call and leave information on voic Do not send it via ) Date of Birth: Required Documents Transcript of highest degree. Note: If a CSUS graduate, an unofficial printout from CMS will be accepted. Current resume Send in ONE to: Justin Gaulke And Casey Valdez

Background Check Successful completion required (inc. criminal) for:
All NEW faculty Faculty with a break in service of 12 months or more, and have not had a background check completed within the last 12 months on same campus Items needed for background check: All items included in Slide 7 Transcript Resume

Retired Annuitants Temporary Faculty retired from CalPERS (a CSU or other state agency): Review additional statements on contract to identify retirees Contact HR immediately at if CalPERS statement is checked Must track WTU’s to ensure compliance with CalPERS’ Post Retirement Employment limits 180-day waiting period (for new retirees) prior to returning to work Excludes FERPs Part of Public Pension Reform Act Direct questions to Casey Valdez (x86741) or Justin Gaulke (x85377) Appointment not to exceed 50% of timebase (or 960 hours) in year preceding retirement. On average, 3 units = hours over the semester Contact Dean’s office for guidance regarding workload status Check for multiple appointments with CSU ID Search

SSI SSI – 2.65% Faculty Advancement with thanks to colleges and departments processed over 600 faculty who met the eligibility to receive the 2.65% service salary increase in the Fall semester. Faculty hired in the Spring 2018 semester WHO DID NOT TEACH IN THE FALL who meet the eligibility will also receive a 2.65% SSI retroactive to beginning of the Spring semester. OFA will work with college analysts to collect this information once hiring has been completed.
