Fortified walls and buildings were made
By 1700  Ville Marie was a walled city

After 1663 more French explorers start travelling through North America
They mostly travelled by canoe
French explorers made it all the way to the Gulf of Mexico

Because of the French explorers, New France can extend it’s territory.
By 1700, New France was 3-4 times as big as it was in the early 1600s
