A very inspiring day that has made me think a lot about how I practice and what my team could be doing better.
Thank you!!! great food!! enjoyable experience with Baked beans theatre group!
I realise that people with intellectual disabilities can do a lot more than I previously thought. This is as a direct result of seeing the Baked Bean company.
I will like to see a course develop that focuses on specific skills to improve communication with this patient group.
Training and awareness across the KHP has to be more visible, more local in order for front line staff to be aware and be part of. thank you.
this was a very well organised event with excellent content and workshops. the drama group was more fun that I'd expected and the venue was fab - close to Guy's Hospital and FREE
A great mix of academic and emotional learning - very worthwhile emotionally and professionally
I really enjoyed the event, the workshops were really useful, it was really useful for networking
The venue, catering and setting for the workshops were very good. The speakers were very good and it was an excellent programme with important themes to explore.
It felt like there were a lot of 'converted' at the meeting and it could have been targeted more at other disciplines of psychiatry and medicine.
I particularly enjoyed thinking psyhodynamically [sic] about the issues. I am well versed in psychodynamic theory but this is the first time I heard anyone apply it to Intellectual disabilities.

13. Summary
Delegates thought that the day was well organised and covered important and relevant topics.
85% of delegates learned new skills and knowledge from the event.
77% of delegates felt more confident to deliver effective care and treatment to people with intellectual disabilities.
Delegates said that they would change their service or do things differently to improve healthcare for people with intellectual disabilities. The top three changes are: improving communication; implementing reasonable adjustments; and being more attentive to the unique needs of people with intellectual disabilities.
Some delegates commented that the workshops were too short and that they would have liked to attend all of them rather than choosing four.

14. Long Term Change
The respondents will be sent a second survey by to complete in three months (June 2015). The aim of the second survey is to establish whether the delegates have been able to make changes to their service and / or their clinical practice as a result of the event to improve the healthcare of people with intellectual disabilities.
