3
Table 1: Mouth Vasti Garcia & Roberto Jimenez
First portion of the alimentary canal and the first step to digestion. The mouth allows food and air to pass through and enter our bodies. Mouth contains many other organs "The+mouth - Google Search." The+mouth - Google Search. N.p., n.d. Web. 15 Sept

Table 2: Esophagus Caren Avila, Chloe Sautter, Danny Magana
The Function of the Esophagus is to carry food, liquids, saliva, and anything else you eat to the stomach. The stomach can then store the food and start digestion, pumping food and liquid to the intestines. According to ("The Esophagus (Human Anatomy): Picture, Function, Conditions, and More." WebMD. WebMD, n.d. Web. 15 Sept ) , the esophagus is an 8 inch muscular tube lined with pink tissue called mucosa connecting the throat to the stomach. The esophagus is behind the windpipe, the heart, and in front of the spine.

Table 3: Liver (Mr. Crew) Bile production and excretion
Storage of glycogen, vitamins, and minerals. Produces cholesterol and certain important vitamins Produces clotting factors to help blood clots Main purpose is that it acts as a filtration system
6
Table 4: Gallbladder Frank Alvarado, Erick Alvarez, Joana Mendoza, Lisa Moua
A small pouch that sits under liver Stores bile produced by the liver Bile helps digest fats When it's full of bile that's waiting to help digest some food, the organ can grow as long as 8 to 10 centimeters (cm), and as wide as 4 cm gallbladder/.

Table 5: Pancreas (eduardo,andrea,tai)
-Function The pancreas has an endocrine function because it releases juices directly into the bloodstream, and it has an exocrine function because it releases juices into ducts -Structure Structure-releases enzymes that break down the fat
8
Table 6: Stomach Rosa Lee, Adrian Gutierrez, Christian Ramirez, Angel Carmona
One of the functions is for the stomach to release acids and enzymes for the chemical break down of the food. The enzyme pepsin is responsible for protein breakdown. (" The Stomach and Its Role in Digestion." The Stomach and Its Role in Digestion. N.p., n.d. Web. 15 Sept ) Gastric acid, gastric juice or stomach acid, is a digestive fluid, formed in the stomach and is composed of HCI, KCI, NaCI.

Table 7: Large Intestine (Mr. Crew)
Structure: "Colon (large intestine) The colon is a 6-foot long muscular tube that connects the small intestine to the rectum. The large intestine is made up of the cecum, the ascending (right) colon, the transverse (across) colon, the descending (left) colon, and the sigmoid colon, which connects to the rectum." Bibliography:2016. (1995). Digestive system function & organs. Retrieved September 15, 2016, from Structure_and_Function_of_the_Digestive_SystemIn- Function: It normally takes about 36 hours for stool to get through the colon. The stool itself is mostly food debris and bacteria. These bacteria perform several useful functions, such as synthesizing various vitamins, processing waste products and food particles, and protecting against harmful bacteria. When the descending colon becomes full of stool, or feces, it empties its contents into the rectum to begin the process of elimination.

Table 8: Small intestine (Kayla, Johnny & Marina)
Sources: Small intestine, a part of the gastrointestinal tube, is 21 feel long. It consists of three segments, namely, duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. Where 90% of the digestion and absorption of food occurs, the other 10% taking place in the stomach and large intestine. The mainfunction of the small intestine is absorption of nutrients and minerals from food.

Table 9: (Anthony, Jasmine, Brian)
The rectum and the anus are the last stages of the digestive system The rectum Is the last straight section of the large intestine before reaching the anus The anus is the lower end of the digestive tract that controls the expulsion of feces The anus is lined with external skin
