1 Cell Structure and Anatomy
All Cells Have: MEMBRANE (outside) lipid bilayer With channels & pumps – So things can get in and out Plants have cell wall also.

2 (the stuff that almost all of the other organelle float in)
Cell structure 2. All Cells Have: CYTOPLASM contains everything else. (the stuff that almost all of the other organelle float in)

3 Cell structure 3. Eukaryotes Have: NUCLEUS = center.
Prokaryotes (bacteria) don’t have one. Eukaryotes do. Contains DNA in chromosomes. Nuclear envelope Nucleolus makes ribosomes

4 Organelles 2 membranes: Lots of surface area (for energy to be made)
Function Who has it Mitochondria : burn food for energy (animals & plants) 2 membranes: Lots of surface area (for energy to be made) Evidence for Endosymbiont theory of cell evolution (another cell ate a mitochondria when it was its own cell)

5 Organelles 2 membranes: Lots of surface area (for energy to be made)
Function Who has it (Chloroplasts) : sunlight  chemical energy (just plants) 2 membranes: Lots of surface area (for energy to be made) Evidence for Endosymbiont theory of cell evolution (another cell ate a chloroplast when it was a free living cell)

6 Organelles Organelle Function Who has it Ribosomes : make proteins
- Made by the nucleolus (both animals & plants) Endoplasmic reticulum : transports new proteins (both) (Vacuoles) : store water, starch - Made by Golgi Apparatus (just plants)

7 Organelles Organelle Function Who has it Golgi apparatus
: modifies, packages & sends (both) (Vacuoles) : store water, starch (just plants)

8 Organelles Organelle Function Who has it Cytoskeleton
: structural framework : Cell movement via pseudopods (fake feet!) (both)
