1 Student Tech Design Park Project
By Austin L. & Casen M.

2 Edgewater Park Problem - The City of Edgewater is in the process of acquiring a 20-acre property located on the west side of Mango Tree Drive, approx miles north of 12th Street and 0.45 miles south of Park Avenue. (See screen shot below) Lat: N / Long: W. The property is approx. 1,000 ft. in depth by 860 ft wide and contains an old borrow pit shaped as a +/-400ft diameter circle.

3 Our Idea Light blue is a Parking lot, a small bathroom, water fountain, functioning rest stop. Using the old burrow pit, we create a detention pond, as to aid with water overflow and a nice little view for any tourist. The Red area is a play ground for children, slides, monkey bars, and a large open space to play with.

4 Ideas for the Path around the Park
Concrete lasts longer, and doesn’t require to much maintenance Gravel requires some maintenance, and occasionally more needs to be added Data pulled from the Quikrete website Square Feet Cost Bags Needed Brand Concrete 1,750 $45, ($45.99 Per Bag) 981 Quikrete, 80 Ib Bag Gravel $1,393,226 ($3.46 per bag) 402,666 Quikrete

5 Other Miscellaneous Trees and Benches will be scattered about the park at certain locations, the Playground will be well lit by Eight different lamps, as to provide good light for anyone out at night. Parts of the trail will be completely covered in trees, as to give it a nature feel. The area is already wooded, requiring deforestation, depending on whether or not the trees are to dense, they can be replaced by Pine trees, and oaks to provide shade and avoid flooding. The path will wrap around the pond, and around the playground as well, providing a path to the parking lot and all of the parks features.
