Vascular Health Atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis is a disease in which plaque builds up inside your arteries, the blood vessels that carry oxygen-rich blood to your heart and other parts of your body. Plaque is made up of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances found in the blood.

Atherosclerosis Over time, plaque hardens and narrows your arteries. This limits the flow of oxygen-rich blood to your organs and other parts of your body. If blood flow to your heart muscle is reduced or blocked, you may have angina (chest pain or discomfort).

The worst outcome is when the plaque formation ruptures and forms blood clots.

If the blood vessel rupture occurs in the brain, the patient will suffer a stroke.

If the rupture occurs in the heart, the patient will suffer a heart attack.

Heart Palpitations feelings that your heart is skipping a beat, fluttering, or beating too hard or too fast. You may have these feelings in your chest, throat, or neck. They can occur during activity or even when you're sitting still or lying down.

Many things can trigger palpitations, including:
Strong emotions Vigorous physical activity Medicines such as diet pills and decongestants Caffeine, alcohol, nicotine and illegal drugs Certain medical conditions, such as thyroid disease or anemia
