1. “Araby” Paragraph…
Write a single body paragraph to go into an essay proving that “Araby” is a retelling of a classic Biblical Tale.
To do this:
Decide which Biblical Tale it is a retelling of.
Select an example for comparison.
Write a persuasive style paragraph showing that it is a good point for comparison.
You may refer to both the story “Araby” and the “Old Testament” stories to do this.
Notice how the Reading Journal set you up for this including the method of interpretation.

2. Build the Paper… Find 2 other paragraphs which would go with yours.
Discuss the paragraphs you have written.
Write a thesis to an essay which would contain all three paragraphs.
When writing the thesis ensure that it:
Provides a theory. (Which story is reflected)
Makes it an analysis by narrowing down the aspect of the story that is being discussed.
