Types of Political Systems

What you’ll need: ENH book and a pen that works!
We will be going through some different types of ‘political systems’ (aka seeing how different countries are run). You will need to copy each different political system into your ENH books (hence the book and pen is needed- ahhh all makes sense now). Let’s begin

ANARCHY A society without government or law.
E.g: There is no country known that is under anarchy.

DICTATORSHIP A form of government in which one person or a small group has absolute power, without limitation. E.g: North Korea, Egypt, Kazakhstan.

MAJORITY TYRANNY A system in which the majority(most) rule without respect for the rights of minority(smaller) groups.

MONARCHY A government in which power is vested in a king or emperor who can pass power on to his or her heirs. E.g England, Belgium, Morroco.

OLIGARCHY A government in which a few people such as a dominant clan or clique have power. E.g South Africa

REPUBLIC A type of democracy in which the citizens are represented and governed by people elected in fair and competitive elections. E.g: Chili, France, Turkey.

DEMOCRACY This is a way of running a country where people have the right to choose who represents them. E.G Australia!
