4 Observer A observer is a person who observes plants, animals, etc. Example: An astronomer observes the stars.

5 Climate The kind of weather a place has. Climate includes conditions of heat and cold, moisture and dryness, clearness and cloudiness, wind and calm. Example: This weeks climate is windy.

6 Endangered Endangered means its liable to become extinct. Example: Pandas are endangered.

7 Diagrams/Charts Diagrams: A chart, a plain, a scheme. Charts: An outline map showing special conditions or facts.

8 Headings/Topics Headings: Something written or printed at the top of the page or at the beginning of a chapter, topic, etc. A letter head and a chapter title are headings. Topics: Subject that people think, write, or talk about, or newspapers.

9 Real Pictures Real Pictures: They are NOT paintings, drawings, printing, etc. they are pictures that a person took at the location the picture was located Example: I saw a real picture In a book.

10 Captions Caption: The description of a picture, the caption usually sits by the picture that is explaining.

11 Glossary Glossary: A list of special, technical, or hard words, usually in alphabetical order, with explanations or comments. A glossary of terms used in chemistry. Text Books some times have glossaries at the end.

12 Index Index: list of what it is in a book, telling on what pages to find names, topics, etc. an index is usually put at the end of the book and arranged in alphabetical order.
