Warm-Up Add the following words & definitions to your Crucible Word Bank Agenda Trepidation  A trembling fear  McCarthyism  Using unfair methods and unsupported claims to try to find out who is “disloyal” (comes from Senator Joe McCarthy)  Defamation  Saying things to lower one’s reputation  Formidable  Causing fear or apprehension  Assign Reading Roles for Act 1 Begin Reading Act 1 Add to your dialectical journal Add 2 quotes about 2 characters who stood out to you. In the analysis column, write about why the quote is important and make a prediction about the character.
