Ethiopia is developing an off-grid energy NAMA to guarantee clean energy access to rural areas
Focus on off grid because: Grid extension is an ongoing program Grid capacity has been increased and stabilized over the past years Grid electricity is already for the larger part renewable Also: Lower ability to pay of rural households requires innovative and coordinated actions and opportunities Lot of renewable resources available in Ethiopia, also in rural setting Several successful project examples and efforts, so a good basis to expand Fitting with Ethiopian policies on rural electrification and CRGE 14/11/2018 Angélica Afanador
