2. 60 seconds intervals of Thinking and Sharing
Name all the plastic items you have encountered today.
Discuss with your group. What is the most common item mentioned? Most uncommon item?
Examine what you are wearing or have on your body. Name all the plastic items.

3. Three Marine Zones
Surface Zone: very surface of the water Pelagic zone : The open water below the surface where neutrally buoyant fish swim and plankton float. Benthic Zone: what lies beneath the bottom of the water (mud, sand or rock)_

4. Shapes of Plastics
One-dimensional objects: line, ropes, strapping bands
Two-dimensional objects: sheets, bags
Reticulated: netting, six pack rings
Hollow-bodied: bottles, fishing floats
Small particles: Styrofoam. Pellets used in making plastic objects
Angular: boxes, crates
