Beginner Plan Dedicate minutes every day, even if it is at lunch or break time, to follow this steady-does-it program. It allows you to track your revision gradually to get you to your exams feeling well prepared. WEEK MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT SUN 1 Define acid, base, neutralisation, activation energy, rate, catalyst, collision theory. Why does increasing temperature (concentration, SA) increase the rate of reaction? How does a catalyst work and why does it work for a long time before it needs to be replaced? Draw graphs to show: twice as much acid used; concentration of acid halved, temperature doubled for the acid & marble chips experiment. Rest Correct mistakes. Review week 1 work. Additional homework. Suggest a pH for ethanoic acid, hydrochloric acid, ammonia, sodium hydroxide. Write word equations for all acid base reactions. Describe how you would prepare a sample of solid lead iodide precipitate. Describe how you would prepare a solid sample of copper sulphate crystals. Review week 1&2 work. Qs 4, 6a,b, 7 3 Define permanent hardness, hard water, temporary hardness, lime scale, scum. Explain why fluorine is more reactive than iodine. Write equations and observations of the group 7 displacement reactions.
