Knowing how you are wired is a clue to what you will do and be good at. Personality traits don’t change normally. God wired you the way He did for a reason. Psalm 139:13-14 You are ultimately in control of your behavior Personality is not a bondage Understanding how you are wired help you determine how you will react to certain adversities, how you excel or not in certain situations, Police profiles can predict the average person’s behavior God wired you the way He did because He knows your purpose requires a person that is wired JUST LIKE YOU!

Resilience Factor Resilience: the ability to bounce back in the face of adversity Directly related to Emotional Intelligence. Not hard wired – it can be improved! The trials, tests, traumas, and pains you go through could be used by God to prepare you for your destiny 2 Corinthians 4:8 Emotional Intelligence is a measure of the ability to assess the emotional polarity of any given situation and choose the positive Emotional Strength is the ability to choose to act on your intentions in spite of the pain Often the trials that we go through make sense when we look back

7 Categories of Resilience
1. Emotional Regulation The ability to stay calm under pressure. Philippians 4:6-7 2. Impulse Control The ability to delay gratification of desires. Romans 13:14 / Matthew 26:41 3. Optimism The ability to see your future as relatively bright. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 4. Causal Analysis The ability to accurately identify the cause of your problems. Psalm 139:23 1. Emotional Regulation: Strong emotion regulation means you can control the way you feel and what you do in the moment of adversity. It doesn’t mean you don’t have emotions. It simply means you have the ability to recognize intense emotions and handle them appropriately. Emotional Regulation is the most powerful of all the factors in resilience. Philippians 4:6-7 2. Impulse Control: It means you can stop before you act. You can take the desire to do or say something you will probably regret and put it on hold. When you do act, it is with forethought and clarity – particularly as it relates to potential consequences. If we don’t learn to control our impulses and desires, we will (often without thinking) do things that are hurtful, harmful, and even sinful. Impulse Control and Emotional Regulation are the two strongest factors determining your resilience quotient. Ro. 13:14 / Mat. 26:41 3. Optimism: Linked with self-efficacy and the belief that you can positively influence the world around you. Optimism must be centered on the reality The key to optimism is challenging your beliefs and putting life events into a proper perspective. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 4. Causal Analysis: Most resilient people are those who have the ability to identify the significant causes of the adversities they face. They are realist! They do not accept responsibility when it is not theirs to assume. They do not reflexively blame others and they do not ruminate about circumstances outside their control Psalm 139:23

7 Categories of Resilience
5. Empathy How well you can identify with the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of others. Zechariah 7:9 6. Self - Efficacy Your belief that your behavior influences or controls your outcomes. Hebrews 12:1 7. Reaching Out Your comfort level at taking risks in different areas of you life. Psalm 34:4 5. Empathy: Empathetic people are able to read the cues other people present about their psychological and emotional states. Being sensitive to others promotes better communication, understanding, and cooperation. On a deeper level, it reflects your ability to “feel for others” and show a caring attitude toward things they care about. 6. Self – Efficacy: You can solve problems that you face and have faith in your ability to succeed. People with high self-efficacy scores often emerge as leaders because they can see possibilities and alternatives that allow them to overcome obstacles and be victorious in their pursuits. They also demonstrate ability to get past hindrances and hang tough in the face of adversity. Hebrews 12:1 7. Reaching Out: Many people fear stepping out. For some, it is the fear of embarrassment, ridicule, or public failure. They think it is better to risk a life of mediocrity than to be exposed to such adversity. Stepping out on faith is a learned skill. It requires moving past previous failures, pain, and experiences that frightened you. Fear is a spirit that manifest as a strong emotion and puts you in bondage. You must identify your fears that block your path to purpose. Destiny is never found in the comfort zone Psalm 34:4
