7 God’s Promises to Israel
Jer. 25:1-14 Jeremiah spoke for 23 years but the people did not listen God sent Nebuchadnezzar to destroy Judah Israel served him for 70 years Then God punished Babylon and the Medes and the Persians conquered them Ez. 43:6-9 Future: the Lord’s throne is in His temple He WILL dwell among Israel forever

8 Ezekiel 36 Vs. 1-15 Spoken to the mountains, hills, ravines,….. LAND
Land was desolate – possessed by Gentiles Nations around Israel threw insults Promise: you (land) will bear fruit for the people to return God will multiply man and beast on you Never again will the land bereave them of children But in AD 70, they were bereaved and it lasted until 1948

9 Ezekiel 36 Vs. 16-21 God judges Israel for idolatry
They are scattered to the nations The Lord’s name is profaned while they are scattered BECAUSE they are not in their land Vs God WILL vindicate His Name He will take Israel from the nations and bring them back to their land (everlasting possession) He will be their God: They will receive new hearts The land will be like the Garden of Eden Cities will be filled with flocks of men Israel will know that He is the Lord

10 Fulfillment of promises
Zionist movement in the late 1800’s, early 1900’s, Jews began returning to Israel Israel became a nation in 1948 Much of the land had become barren People that returned started restoring it Ex. The Jordan Valley is now irrigated and fruit is growing on the land. BUT: They do not yet, recognize the Lord their God

11 Ezekiel 37 Vs. 1-10 Dry bones come together
Sinews (tendons) are placed Flesh grows, skin covers the bones The slain are breathed on and come to life A great army is formed Vs Bones = Israel Graves = Nations God will bring them back to their land

12 Ezekiel 37 Vs. 15-23 Israel and Judah will be one nation
Israel taken captive by Assyria in 722 B.C. Judah taken captive by Babylon in 605 B.C. Israel returned, but still had no Israelite king Vs They WILL live in the land forever David will be their prince forever Covenant of peace – forever Nations will know He is the Lord - forever

13 Application None of God’s promises to Israel have failed
None of God’s promises CAN fail Israel’s partial rejection means salvation for us!! Love the Jew!!! Pray for them. God cannot lie God keeps His covenant for He is faithful Remember: In the fullness of time: His time Your redemption is near! He is our hope.
