RIGHTEOUSNESS It is the character or quality of being right with God
It is whatever is right or just in itself, whatever conforms to the revealed will of God. Whatever has been appointed by God to be acknowledged and obeyed by man. The sum-total of the requirements of God.

RIGHTEOUSNESS Of God – an attribute of God
Psalm 89:14; Isaiah 59:17; Psalm 11:7 From God – God makes us right through forgiving us of our sins, by the blood of Jesus. Romans 3:21-26; 4:3-5 Philippians 3:9; Romans 8:1,2

RIGHTEOUSNESS The practical righteousness of a life lived in obedience to God. 1 John 3:7 ~ … He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. NOT: self-righteousness; Matthew 5:20 One “puts on” this armor by obedience from a heart that seeks to please God Matthew 7:21

RIGHTEOUSNESS Satan has no answer for consistent and persistent obedience. We are protected in this battle when we are seeking to follow the will of God in our lives. Am I living the kind of life that enables me to engage in this conflict? Have I joined the ranks of the wicked or the righteous? When I’m not seeking to apply the principles of right living to my life, Satan makes his advances toward our heart!

How Does It Protect? Ephesians 4:24-29 Joseph – fled the scene
It keeps the devil from having a place to stand. Joseph – fled the scene David – provided a foothold Romans 6:1,2,11-13 The instruments of unrighteousness are transformed into instruments of righteousness

How Does It Protect? Righteous living robs Satan of his arsenal.
1 Peter 2:11 2 Corinthians 10:5 Romans 13:12-14 Daniel 6:1-5 They tempted Daniel in what he had always done – serve His God! His righteousness was his armor. 1 Thess. 5:8

How Does It Protect? It protects us from the unhappiness of a troubled and hardened conscience. David: no peace! Ps 51:12 ~ Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,… Never overlook the protective power of consistent obedience to the will of God. Deut. 6:17-19, 24-25

He is the One who makes us thoroughly equipped in the battle!
Rom 3:10 ~ As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one; Failed We need the righteousness from God that comes through forgiveness of our sins, in Christ. He is the One who makes us thoroughly equipped in the battle! 1 Cor. 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
