Diagnosis of Disease Pathology is the study of diseases.
Pathophysiology is the study of functional changes caused by diseases.

Different diseases can have similar signs and symptoms
For example, pale lips, lack of energy, breathlessness could be a number of things. Respiratory problems that prevent O2 transfer to the blood Cardiovascular problems. Reduced O2 carrying capacity (anemia).

To obtain a diagnosis decision there must be a clear understanding of structure and function.

A. Homeostasis is the maintenance of a relatively constant internal environment. The ability to maintain the balance depends on two factors The status of the physiological systems involved. 2. The nature of the stress that’s imposed .

Remember - Disease is the failure to maintain homeostatic conditions. It can start in a specific cell/tissue and continue throughout the body. The body often overcomes some diseases, for example the flu.
