Kia ora koutou and warm greetings from the SPPU team. We pray 2018 has started off well for you and your whānau. This is a short visual presentation from our team showing some of the work we have been doing over the last 6 months. Thank you for all your support and prayers. God bless you all as we work together, caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society by God’s mighty power. Kia ora!

3 Just Action 2017: Creating a Just Future
We had about 200 participants at the Just Action 2017 conference in Auckland. Praise God! Thanks to all those who attended and to all our volunteers who helped out.

4 Two Major Reports in 2017: State of Our Communities – surveying 100+ people in Linwood (Christchurch), Papakura (Auckland) and Porirua (Wellington). Finding a Better Balance – migrant workers and elderly care in NZ.

5 State of the Nation 2018: Kei a Tātou

6 Staff Changes: Farewell to Annaliese Johnston who has worked in SPPU for several years as an Intern and then Social Policy Analyst and Legal Counsel. Annaliese is leaving the Unit in March for a job with Amnesty International in Wellington. We pray God will bless this new chapter and we have been blessed with all the work she has done for SPPU and The Salvation Army. Kia ora Annaliese! Welcome to our new SPPU Intern for Colson Verdonk. Colson is from Palmerston North and is studying a BSc and BA Conjoint at the University of Auckland.
