In 2008, ISO/TC 184/SC 4 visualization ad hoc group evaluated standards for Product Visualization. In 2009, 4 finalists: the previous ISO/IEC X3D and two others standards which were approved under SC 4 as: ISO 14306:2012 with edition 2 in 2017 (preview url) Industrial automation systems and integration -- JT file format specification for 3D visualization ISO/PAS 17506:2012 (preview url) Industrial automation systems and integration -- COLLADA digital asset schema specification for 3D visualization of industrial data One is still pending : U3D which is currently used by ISO with an other De Jure standard by ISO/TC 171/SC 2 : ISO 14739:2014 (preview url) Document management -- 3D use of Product Representation Compact (PRC) format

March: ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 24 successful ballot to join WG 16
May: ISO/TC 171/SC 2 resolution to join WG 16 for 3D PDF STEP integration
