GRANTS Approval is scheduled for August……
No official updates provided by Deputy Premier or his office No grants no tournament meeting Tournament will go ahead with temporary facilities with Golf NSW funding assistance if required Council submitted/approved and supported Timeline now compressed for Club house and course changes Possibly wont be able to do everything proposed. Priority is change rooms. Everything is dependant upon Grant approval Key decisions to be made during August/September.

Golf NSW Discussions with Deputy Premier very positive and grants due for approval in August Sponsorship meetings to be conducted September 4-7 in Queanbeyan NSW Open will be BEFORE the Royal event Course Review Greens are very good 18th fairway bordering practice fairway to be fenced and made out of bounds for tournament The 7th hole will be a Par 5 from the back tee. Steps to be constructed along tee for entry rather than walking up front which distracts people off 4th tee. The 5th hole concrete drains and associated ditch should be made into a hazard. Driving Range Options Practice range will be suitable with the proposed tree removal and trimming. New practice facility for chipping will be very beneficial No need for Wright Park facility

Golf NSW Food and Beverage – Sponsors (VIP area) – Pro Am – Spectators – Members – Players and Caddies Food and Beverage to be available for spectators with suggestions being 1 on the closed road and 1 being in the trees between 13th fairway and 14th tee. Separate VIP area to be provided around 18th green and in Club Separate Players/Caddies area to be provided in Club for food, drink and relaxing. Vouchers to be provided. Pro Am will be conducted on the Wednesday and depending on numbers could be a morning and afternoon shotgun start. A minimum of 60 carts will be required for the tournament.

Golf NSW General The number of practice balls was raised as an issue at the 2018 event by Coffs Harbour. They were promised 4000 and only received This meant a lot of extra picking up and cleaning of balls on the practice range. There were indications of possible future events should Queanbeyan host a successful event and had the Board support to do so. Laura Davies has not yet committed but they are confident she will be the marquee player.
