4. Get Variables On One Side Of The Equation 3x + 5 = 5x - 7
If The Equation Has Variables
On Both Sides Of The Equal Sign,
Cancel Out All Variables
On One Side.
3x + 5 = 5x - 7

5. 2x + 7 = 21 7 – 3x = 19 Cancel Any Addition Or
Subtraction With The Variable
Performing The Opposite Operation With The Same Number Will
Cancel It. Do This To Both Sides.
2x + 7 = 21
7 – 3x = 19

6. Be Neat…. Show Your Work 2x + 5 = 5x - 19 2x + 5 - 2x = 5x - 19 - 2x
