Background About 100 years ago a French doctor named Antoine Marfan had a patient with physical changes affecting their connective tissue. Connective tissue connects organs in our body similar to tissues connecting skin to muscle of uncooked chicken. Genetic counselors advise people who may have genetic conditions like Marfan Syndrome to discover about passing it on to their kids.
