7. REAL FATHERS
The commitment of being a real father doesn’t have any term limits with it.
A father’s job is to prepare our boys to become men who can serve as great fathers for their own children later. We are to bring them up, not make them eternal boys.
Fathers are to show their daughters how real men who dearly love them will treat them by demonstrating that kind of love for their mothers.

8. REAL FATHERS CONTINUED
Nothing a dad ever says to his daughter will carry the weight of his actions toward her mother.
Most daughters grow up to either look for a man whom they think acts like their dad or who is the very opposite of their dad because they learned not to want anyone to treat them like their dad treated their mother.

9. REAL FATHERS CONTINUED
It is an amazing joy when your daughter, who is now a young woman, comes home to introduce you to the young man she loves and whispers to you, “He reminds me of you, Dad.”
Fathers choose the job. Choose to be God’s representative with your children. Be a father they are proud to say to their friends, “There goes my dad.”

10. DEUTERONOMY 6:4-9 Have complete devotion and love for God.
Keep His teachings deep in your heart.
Teach them diligently to your children.
Talk about the scriptures when you are sitting at home, when you are walking along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.
Everywhere our children look in our homes and in our lives they should be reminded of God and His will.

These verses are two texts that simply tell us what being a dad is all about. Instead of disheartening our children, we are to be their encouragers for life.
