2 Vocabulary The quadratic formula is a method that is used to find the roots of a quadratic equation. You will have 2 answers for x.

Simplify Find your solution

4 Make Sure... The equation is equal to 0.
If it’s not, you must solve to make it equal zero before you can start the problem. When you square a value under the radical sign, the answer is always positive

5 Example Problem #1 x +3x-4=0

6 Example Problem #2 x +2x-8=0

7 Example Problem #3 3x -10x+5=0

8 Example Problem #4 2x +x= 1/2
