The Gautrain 80 km between Pretoria and the historic center of Johannesburg, and between Sandton and OR Tambo Airport 10 stations (3 underground and 7 above ground) each of them associated with a parking (apart of ORTIA) One Train Depot for maintenance activities at Midrand 24 Bombardier trains. Composition of the train set = 4 coaches. Can be coupled to reach 8 coaches. Max speed: 160 km/h Feeder system of 125 buses for 450 commercial km (36 routes departing from 8 stations) and 2 Buses maintenance depot. Midi buses system with 6 routes, 4 Under discussion Operating hours from 05h30 to 20h30, with headway between 10 and 30 minutes passagers/ weekday and open 365/ year gautrain.co.za | 0800 GAUTRAIN

Province development A railway line is a lever for development of the province BUT it is a huge cost. Aim is to help people to move, to develop economic, to reduce pollution etc… But only one goal = to help to the success of the Province by transporting a huge number of people per day. Gautrain morning peak, there is a ratio of 1 fourth compared to fourth . Is it well balanced? More and more offices in Sandton. 3 new big buildings to open soon. Communication Strong development in term of communication to passengers Came from a very basic minimal communication to extensive communication. Trend is to go to a dedicated communication to each individual. Challenge: more you give, more the customer is expecting.
