3. Brief History of the Company
Teva Pharmaceuticals was established in in Jerusalem by Elsa and Dr. Gunter Friedlander.
Teva Pharmaceutical USA was established in 1945.
In 1996, the company merged with Bio craft Laboratories and changed its name to Teva Pharmaceutical USA (Teva USA).
During the World War II, the government in Israel had Teva tax subsidies to inspire Teva to develop and produce new drugs. In 1951, Teva had expanded and became public on the Tel Avir Stock Exchange.
In the 1970’s Teva formed an alliance with Assia and Zril to create Pharmaceutical industries.
In 2008 to the present, teva Pharmaceuticals became one of the largest Pharmaceutical companies in the industry.

Last year, Teva donated over $7 million in medicine for the earthquake victims in Haiti.
