The New RAPID TPM A NEW PLATFORM FOR TURBO PETROL ENGINES
Leading name in the world of the additional module applied to Turbo Diesel engines for over 20 years, Rapid range now extends its application field introducing a new development for the latest generation of Turbo Petrol engines. Direct result of the long experience matured, since 1991, in the recalibration of the Engine Control Units for this type of propellers, the operative approach developed for Rapid allows the customization of the engine working in accordance with air flow, inlet manifold pressure, boost pressure, engine rpm.

The New RAPID TPM To support this technology, Dimsport developed a new generation of Rapid modules named RAPID TPM, further evolution of what previously released: a new hardware platform provided with CPU, Flash Eprom and RAM EEprom, not only suitable to control the specific sensors involved in this management, but also able to operate on the CAN BUS network of the vehicle.

RAPID TPM, FULLY PROGRAMMABLE!
RAPID TPM is a fully PROGRAMMABLE device. The “DIGITAL PROGRAMMING CONSOLE" enables the calibration of the module in order to set the most suitable engine performance, especially when custom settings are needed.

RAPID MODULE + SPECIFIC WIRING
HOW IS RAPID PROVIDED ? It is provided as a Kit, composed by: RAPID MODULE + SPECIFIC WIRING RAPID-TPM is pre-set with the standard configuration (indicated in price list and each manuals) specifically developed for the mentioned vehicle and engine. The WIRING is provided with detailed instructions about the connections required for a correct installation.

PLUG & PLAY WIRINGS The installation is achieved through PLUG & PLAY connectors specifically released to link to the relevant sensors of each vehicle supported. Each wiring is realised with Automotive standard components.

INSTALLATION MANUAL Each RAPID kit ordered is supplied with an INSTALLATION MANUAL DEDICATED to that specific vehicle. The manual reports the whole installation procedure and includes information about all the operations required for a successfully installation.

CALIBRATION CONSOLE An ESSENTIAL tool for all the operators!
The CALIBRATION CONSOLE allows to change the setting calibration of the modules and the consequent engine performance, so to offer the MOST SUITABLE CUSTOMIZATION of torque and power delivery.

RAPID TPM MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
Thanks to the calibration console or by means of a dedicated, optional Software (available for Rapid for Turbo Petrol only), professional installers can set the parameters which determine the engine performance, the perfect customization of torque and power delivery according to your clients’ request!

MODULE CALIBRATION SETTING PARAMETERS: SET - TH1 - TH2 - TH3

Important: do not set this parameter to 000.
Setting Parameters SET This parameter regulates the performance increase: by raising this parameter, the performance of the vehicle improves; by lowering this parameter, the performance decreases. Important: do not set this parameter to 000. This would bring the vehicle’s performance back to original (same effect as switching Rapid module OFF with the calibration console).

Setting Parameters TH1 This parameter regulates the activation threshold of RAPID module according to the engine RPM reference divided by 100. To get the real RPM threshold, it is enough to multiply TH1 value by 100 (this logic is valid also for TH2 and TH3, these values have to be multiplied by 100) Example: TH1=018 -> activation threshold at 1800 RPM

Setting Parametrs TH2 Similarly to TH1, this parameter is set according to the engine RPM as a reference, but for a different purpose: when the engine RPM exceeds the threshold value of TH2, Rapid starts decreasing the additional performance to preserve the engine integrity. Also in this phase the engine will provide enhanced performances, but slightly reduced if compared to the peak provided in the RPM range between TH1 and TH2. Example: TH2 = 055 -> decrease threshold set at 5500 RPM

is completed in a range of 300 RPM from the threshold set.
Setting Parametrs TH3 This parameter determines the RPM turn-off threshold at which RAPID stops working. When the engine RPM exceeds this value, the vehicle performances go back to stock. Important: to avoid rough/irregular engine working, this turn-off operation is completed in a range of 300 RPM from the threshold set. Example: TH3 = 070 -> turn-off threshold at 7000 RPM

All Rapid modules can be switched ON and OFF:
OPTIONAL SWITCH! All Rapid modules can be switched ON and OFF: 1) REMOTE WIRELESS CONTROLLER: once the provided antenna is installed on the wiring, the remote controller allows quick activations/deactivations of the modules. 2) MECHANICAL SWITCH: wired version of the switch, it is provided with a red led showing when Rapid is activated.

the specific Rapid installation manual will be automatically downloaded. A click on “Info Rapid” will show the composition of the kit and additional information such as: percent increase of power and torque, type of connection, complexity of the installation procedure, etc.
