Example: Epitaph= A short text honoring a deceased person (Tombstone or plaque). Example: Epicenter= The point on Earth’s surface vertically above the focus of an earthquake.

Example: Gastrology= The study of the structure, functions, and diseases of the stomach. Example: Gastronomy= The science of good eating.

“Genesis” Prefix “Genesis”- An organ, creation or beginning.
Example: Genesiology= The scientific study of reproduction.

“Herba” Prefix “Herba”- Plants
Example: Herbivore= An animal that only eats plants. Example: Herbalife= A global nutrition and weight company.

“Hetero” Prefix “Hetero”- of or pertaining to an atom other than carbon, particularly in a cyclic compound. Example: Heterogeneous= Different in kind; unlike Example: Heterotroph= An organism that cannot fix carbon for growth.

Example: Homogeneous= Composed of parts of or elements that are all of the same kind. Example: Homogenization= any of several processes used to make a chemical mixture the same throughout.
