3. What are the order of operations?
A set of rules established by mathematicians to evaluate an expression involving more than one operation.

6. How do you use the order of operations to evaluate an expression?
The order of operations tells us which operation to complete first when there is more than one operation in an expression.
PEMDAS
Evaluate expressions inside grouping symbols.
Evaluate powers.
Multiply and divide from left to right.
Add and subtract from left to right.

11. Grouping Symbols
Grouping symbols such as parentheses ( ) and brackets [ ] indicate that operations inside the grouping symbols should be performed first.

15. Fraction Bars
A fraction bar can act as a grouping symbol. Evaluate the numerator and denominator before you divide.
