11 Persuasion Until the last paragraph on page 118, Paine has written using “we” and “our” and “us”…in this paragraph he switches to now say “you” and “your” WHY does he do this? It’s a call to arms What is the effect of this switch? It puts the responsibility on the audience to make the choice to support or not

12 Persuasive Appeals Which appeal (Ethos, Logos, Pathos) does Paine use the most? Find one quote for each appeal used Ethos=Ethics (expert) Pathos= Sympathy (emotion) Logos= Logic (reason)
