1 Peak LC and Peak SE by Ultradent Products, Inc.

2 Stronger acid and resin components and keep them separate and give you a way to track them. 18 month shelf life, 30 days after activated.

3 Jet Mix Thoroughly mixes 2 chemistries via powerful “jet expulsion” plunging action Perfect ratio every time [no error w/drops] Fresh chemistry No waste [e.g. mixing well with drops] No mixing well Perfect 1.2pH every time No loss of solvents No mess Guaranteed stability and freshness – over 30 days Chemical A The Jet Mix syringes gives you fresh chemistry when you are ready to use it. This avoids any shipping problems caused by transporting product from manufacturer to warehouse to distributor to warehouse to customer- usually by way of a hot UPS truck!) Chemical B

4 Ideal for etching and priming dentin and enamel – both cut and uncut
1.2pH Self-Etch Primer Ideal for etching and priming dentin and enamel – both cut and uncut No need to use an additional phosphoric acid on the enamel part of the prep Saves time JetMix assures the pH is constant 1.2 pH Self- Etch Primer

5 Dentin vs. Enamel Bonding
Much of the available research reflects old information gathered on old products. At this time we will generally get higher bond values on dentin than we will on enamel. This improvement comes from the fact that we have much more hydrophilic adhesive today than we had in the past. This allows the dentin to be permeated with the resin creating a tooth/resin hybrid which creates the stronger more durable bond. Enamel is not as porous as dentin so you don’t have as high of degree of resin impregnation into the surface to facilitate the higher bond values

6 The Bond Strengths have been proven in our in-house studies and research over a period of 3-plus years and now are being confirmed in university studies through out the world.

9 Third-Party Data for Peak
AADR Abstract ID #0825, Dallas Bond Strengths of Self-etching Bonding Systems to Dentin and Enamel. R.B. Price, M. McLeod, and C.M. Felix, Dalhousie Univ., Halifax, Canada.

10 1 Gallon of AdheSE One= $260,827 1 Gallon of Clearfil S3= $110,728
Cost comparison: Peak is an economical way to increase quality bonding. 1 Gallon of Excite = $63,219 1 Gallon of Peak = $59,926

11 Variables Which Affect Quality Of Bonding
1) Etching too long can create an etch pattern which is too deep, making it difficult for the resins to reach and lock into sound tooth structure. 2) Dentin moisture. Over drying causes poor penetration of some resins and can cause very low bond values with some bonding systems. 3) Application time. Too short of application time (scrubbing, brushing, agitation, etc.) may not allow for proper volatilization of the solvents or may not allow the self etching systems to etch the dentin/enamel properly. 4) Thinning/drying. Too thin of adhesive layer doesn’t allow for proper polymerization/curing do to oxygen inhibition. Too thick of adhesive and the solvents in the adhesive may not evaporate properly causing poor polymerization. 5) Light curing. Holding the curing light too far away or too short of curing time can result in poor polymerization. Incorrect wavelength (Some LED curing units) will not cure some restoratives properly. 6) Composite Placement. Poor adaptation of the composite to the adhesive can create voids at the bonding interface resulting in a compromised restoration. 7) Contamination during any step can compromise bond values. It is always best to etch/rinse/dry and then repeat the last step before the contamination occurred. 8) Expired Adhesives/Composites equals poor polymerization.
