The Toronto-Waterloo Region Innovation Corridor is a global centre of talent, growth, innovation and discovery. Rivaling the best in the world, this 100km stretch is the second largest technology cluster in North America. The Toronto-Waterloo Region Innovation Corridor connects 15,000 Technology Companies employing over 200,000 Technology Workers and has over 5,000 Technology Startups. The case for building a Toronto-Waterloo Innovation Corridor as Canada’s best shot at a technology ecosystem of the scale and density to rival the world’s best. The Toronto -Waterloo Region corridor have the potential to compete on a global scale with the world’s most innovative centres like Silicon Valley and the London-Cambridge corridor in the UK. 3 University Demand Facts:
With a population of approximately 590,000 persons, Brampton is the 9th largest municipality in Canada. The median age of Brampton is approximately 34. Between 2011 and 2021, Brampton is expected to grow by approximately 35,400 young adults (18 to 24 Age Cohort ) one of the largest increases in the Greater Golden Horseshoe. 4 Ryerson submitted final proposal template to Province.
October 26, 2016 March 14, 2017 September 6, 2017 October 2,2017 December 2017 Province of Ontario announced funding for a university facility in Brampton. Province announced that Ryerson University, in partnership with Sheridan College, applied to establish a new facility in Brampton. Council committed to an investment strategy for a new university and centre for education, innovation and collaboration ($150 million). Ryerson submitted final proposal template to Province. Province will announce details for Brampton and Milton.
