1 PHONE Case Design brief:
You have been asked to make a small batch of phone cases that will be used for promotional purposes at a public event. The client has not decided on a name for themselves as of yet and has asked you to put your own company logo on initially to see what it looks like with graphics on. You will have consider the cell production method used in factories and look at how CAD CAM and QC is used in industry to make an item.

2 MP3/PHONE POUCH Objectives:
To describe how to cut and piece up the Phone Case. How?: Watch the demo and make notes. STARTER: 5 min’s in teams to brainstorm company names for your company- tip- short n sweet! MAIN: Watch demo and take notes. PLENARY: recap stages- split stages in to jobs for each team member

3 PHONE Case A. Pin and cut fabric C. B.
B. Press and stitch 3cm down the top of each side C. Press 5 mm of the top edge over Release the seam by clipping the fabric so it looks like above Fold over the top edge again by 2 cm and stitch

4 PHONE Case Fold the work over (put the top bit you did inside!)
And sew as shown Set the machine on H and SS. go around the stitch you just did Trim off excess thread and material Time for toggles and j hooks

To list how to cut and piece up the Phone case and add quality control and feedback loops. Demonstrate skills shown in demonstration How?: Use demo notes to write plan of making. STARTER: 5 min’s in teams to brainstorm Logos for your company name – tip: keep it simple!! MAIN: Split the group tasks from the plenary- i.e. 1. Logo designer, 2. Cutter, 3. Presser, 4. sewing 1st step - see photos If not on a task at the time, plan of making as discussed with teacher PLENARY: recap stages-what’s next? Assign jobs for next tasks

To list how to cut and piece up the MP3/Phone Pouch and add quality control and feedback loops. Demonstrate skills shown in demonstration How?: Use dem’ notes to write plan of making. STARTER: Set up work area and check all of the team know what they are doing and when! MAIN: Split the group tasks i.e. 1. Logo cutter, 2. Stitch the top over, 3. release seam and sew up bag, 4. Overlock edges If not on a task at the time, plan of making as discussed with teacher PLENARY: recap stages-what’s next? Assign jobs for next tasks

To explain how to set up and produce a screen print. Demonstrate skills shown in demonstration How?: make notes on dem’. STARTER: Demo on screen printing MAIN: Split the group tasks i.e. 1. Logo cutter, 2. release seam and sew up bag, 3. overlock edges tidy up pouch 5.Set up screen printing for next lesson If not on a task at the time, add screen printing to plan of making PLENARY: recap stages-what’s next? Assign jobs for next tasks

Apply knowledge to set up and produce a screen print. How?: Use notes on dem’. STARTER: Demo on screen printing MAIN: Split the group tasks i.e. 1. Plate insertion, 2. screen printer, cord cutter and components setup, 4. Swing tag designer If not on a task at the time, add screen printing to plan of making PLENARY: discuss – how do you think it is different in industry??

9 PHONE Case Objectives:
Compare how a garment is made using one off, batch and mass production How?: Watch video then discuss STARTER: what is one off, Batch and Mass production? MAIN: Watch video then compare the 3 methods of production. PLENARY: Areas to compare; Use of computers to design and make Lay planning Quality control- how do they get and check for accurate items? Cutting Sewing up Finishing off- pressing (ironing)
