Read and understand the criteria and guidelines Is your organization and/or program a good fit/match? Are there any geographic limitations? Eligibility Requirements Understand the process & Deadlines Know the application submission requirements (letter of intent, application form, or full proposal) Contact staff if unclear about guidelines NOTES What Do Funders Look For? Program is a fit with the funder’s mission and priority areas of interest Application guidelines are followed, all questions should be fully addressed Application should include required information (e.g. budget, cover sheet, attachments) Measurable outcomes and objectives SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-Specific) Organizational Capacity Budget is consistent with scope of work Include budget narrative Sustainability -Plan to sustain the program after grant funds end

10 Childhood Obesity Prevention Program
Launched in 2013 Collaborative & Coalitions Implement local PSE Support active living and healthy eating Leadership/Capacity Development Technical Assistance Policy & Evaluation COPP-Childhood Obesity Prevention Program launched in 2013/multi-year funding. Speak to Foundation’s evolution with regard to Childhood Obesity work Overarching Goals: Support local communities & coalitions to identify and implement PSE (Policy, Systems and Environmental changes) that would support and encourage community-wide infrastructure change to promote a Healthy Community as a way of life for all sectors of a community.
