Operation husky was almost canceled because of the storm but did it anyways

6. Operation Mincemeat
It is a deception strategy used from the British convince Hitler, that the Allied would have invaded Greece and Sardinia.
They putted a decomposing corp on the Huelva coast, from the analysis they found out that it was the major William Martin from the royal Britain marine.
“A body is obtained from one of the London hospitals ... The lungs are filled with water and documents are disposed in an inside pocket. The body is then dropped by a Coastal Command aircraft ... On being found, the supposition in the enemy's mind may well be that one of our aircraft has either been shot or forced down and that this is one of their passengers” Charles Cholmondeley
In the body they putted a small paper saying that the Allied would have invaded Sardinia and Greece
The Führer does not agree with ... [Mussolini] that the most likely invasion point is Sicily. Furthermore, he believes that the discovered Anglo-Saxon order confirms the assumption that the planned attacks will be directly mainly against Sardinia and the Peloponnesus.
